A 10 week introduction to drawing, sketching and the disciplines of composition, proportion and perspective followed by an introduction to painting with acrylics. Based in the beautiful ‘Arts & Crafts’ St Peter’s Church. The course will be informative, and very importantly FUN! With initial sessions covering all the basics and later sessions allowing the course members freedom to create their own works of art under professional guidance

What you will need (All the following are available from most good art supply shops or from ‘The Works’

An A2 Drawing Pad. An A3 Watercolour Pad. A selection of drawing pencils (particularly 2B, 3B, 4B ,5B) A pencil sharpener & Eraser. A selection of Acrylic paints, an old saucer or a container lid to use as a palette. Old clothes or an apron/overall.

Session 1 Introduction/Drawing & Sketching. Session 2 Proportion and Perspective.

Session 3 Construction & Composition. Session 4 Introduction to Acrylic Paints. Session 5 Still Life/Landscapes.

Sessions 6-9 Personal; Projects. Session 10 Presentation and Mounting of works.

The above may change before course commencement

Payment can be made in full, or over two instalments, the first due before the first session and the second due by week 6. By paying the first instalment you are committing to the full course.

A contract between you and the artist will be issued at the first session and must be completed before commencing the course. Due to the nature of this type of endeavour monies are non-refundable, although the artist will ensure everything is done to ensure customer satisfaction.
